Introducing Olio Bosphorus olive oil and discussing the differences between Italian and Turkish olive oil.

This summer we added Turkish olive oil to the assortment from Olio Bosphorus brand. The range includes:
• Premium First Cold Pressing Oil Extra Virgin North – 1 L glass, 1 L и 5 L PET
• Pomace – 1 L and 5 L Pet

We know how important it is to choose an olive oil that meets all your requirements. Although Italian olive oil remains a favorite among chefs, Turkish oil is becoming more and more popular.

The main difference between oils from Turkey and Italy is flavour:

Italian olive oil is characterised by tartness and bitterness, while Turkish olive oil has a more delicate taste without bitterness.

There is an opinion that the olive bitter in the oil is an indicator of quality and, as a consequence, an indicator of "true olive oil". However, this is not the case at all. Quality control and product labeling is under control of the International Olive Council. (IOC, ex. IOOC)
